I research, prototype, test, iterate, design and deliver.
Inspiration | Gain empathy
Research & documentation: UX research is important to add context and insight into the design process. I work with researchers to better understand audience and their needs, and how that audience interacts with a system. I conduct workshops/sessions with the customers & stakeholders to gain insights. I also analyze data to find user interaction with the system which helps me to make informed design decisions. I document my findings in a easy to understand visual format to develop shared understanding within the team. e.g. user journeys, process flows etc.
Ideation | Brainstorm possibilities
Concepts: I generate many concepts as rapidly as possible by aggregating information from research and then synthesizing ideas by assessing what works best for the user and the business. I use paper, pencils, pens, markers, whiteboards and sticky notes to share my initial high level ideas and concepts.
Implementation | Prototyping
Prototype, test, iterate: I use whiteboard, Sketch, Axure, Invision, Adobe creative suite, Flinto, Hype, HTML/CSS to create interactive prototypes. I test these solutions with users and stakeholders to find out what works and what needs to be improved. I iterate this process until it meets the needs of target audience. I also work with the developers, visual designers to ensure that we are on the same page. Without successful implementation, good ideas amount to nothing.
